What Is Night Vision?

The question, “How could anything dealing with NIGHT be associated with Christianity?” was posed to our Praise Him Ministries staff. We thought it was a very valid question.

When we think of NIGHT, darkness and fear come to mind. It is evident that we are living in a very dark society where we are faced with darkness everyday from television to the big screen, government to the pulpit, the schoolyard to the streets, and black magic to white magic. Darkness is all around us. Whether bluntly expressed or subliminal, it is a reality!

When we think of VISION, we think of LIGHT and FAITH. Instead of living in denial, ignorance, or apathy, we have chosen to address this reality head on! In John 12:35-36 Jesus said, “Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”

Recently there was a television documentary that was speaking about American troops serving in a foreign country. The troops were having difficulty finding their enemy because they were unfamiliar with the territory. When night would come, they were unable to see their adversary. So the American military had to come up with something fast. This is when NightVision goggles were introduced to the military. With this new piece of equipment they were able to see their enemy in the night.

There are two ways to obtain night vision: either technologically or biologically. God has equipped us with night vision. He has given us the ability to walk with clear vision in darkness. The Light that we have comes from knowing Jesus Christ and having His Word in our heart. Our Heavenly Father is Light and we are His sons and daughters. We have inherited His traits, thus causing us to be victorious in all we do.

To sum it up, NightVision is about being a LIGHT that leads people out of DARKNESS and into the LIGHT of Jesus Christ!
